Eva Elizabeth Kirkland

Eva Elizabeth Kirkland, 78, of Du Quoin, began her new life in her heavenly home at 8:15 P.M. on Saturday, April 27, 2002 at the home of her daughter.
Elizabeth was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church in Du Quoin. She was a member of the CWF of the church. Elizabeth was active in many church activities.
She was born on February 1, 1924 at Du Quoin, IL the daughter of William and Rosetta (Webb) Bunton.
She married Wesley Paul Kirkland on August 22, 1940 at Du Quoin, IL. He began his new life in his heavenly home on April 17, 1993.
She will be deeply missed by two daughters- Frances Ehler and husband Willard of Du Quoin, IL, Joanna Schue and husband Tom of Nicholasville, KY, three grandchildren- Roger Ehler and wife Kelly of Chicago, Laura Morrow and husband Curt of Pinckneyville, IL, Suzanna Couch and husband Tim of Nicholasville, KY, ten great grandchildren- Alex and Josh Ehler, Megan and Derrick Threadgill, Brittny, Baleigh and Brooklyn Morrow, Traceton, Hanah and Emily Couch, sister- Suzanne Eddington of Springfield, IL, four sisters-in-law- Mary Belle Moore, Betty Moore and Lucille Hughes all of Du Quoin, IL, Coriner Leslie of Ottawa, IL, several nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers & sisters- Carson Bunton, Dale Bunton, Rosalie Bunton, Dorothy Lawson, Velma Chambers and Hazel Erickson.
Funeral services were at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, May 1, 2002 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with the Rev. John Lewis officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M., Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Interment was in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the First Christian Church of Du Quoin or the Southern Illinois Hospice.
